Hi Steve,

Yep it sure does. System32 is a folder/directory Windows uses to house Operating System files. Viruses can and do get into that folder and Malwarebytes can find and remove them no matter where they try to hide on your PC.

Have a great day!

It's no problem having both McAfee and Malwarebytes on the same PC. Malwarebytes doesn't scan continuously for viruses like McAfee does but if McAfee ever tells you that you have a virus or you suspect you do, the first thing to do is update Malwarebytes and run a quick scan. I've used a lot of different software to remove viruses and still think Malwarebytes is the best.

When your subscription to McAfee runs out rather than pay for another year I'd suggest one of the free antivirus programs like AVG or AntiVir. Both are very comparable to McAfee except they're free.

Take care,

Well Bert, I agree with you. It took me days to clean up my virus/malware/spyware infested computer. Long story short...Found Malwarebytes and within minutes I was back to normal. Malwarebytes is my number one FREE quick fix.
I love your site. Always learning something new from it.
Thanks for sharing!

Hi Gregg, thanks for posting. I'm not a scientist, I'm just a guy who cleans up virus infested computers on a regular basis. Until I find something that works better than Malewarbytes I'll continue to use it. There is no silver bullet when it comes to viruses and spyware so Malewarebytes is just one of several scans I run. If you post again, let us know what free antivirus/antispyware program you find most effective.
Thanks!

Bert- anecdotal data/reviews may be acceptable for some, but I am evidence based in my work and in my computer antivirus softeware. Short of extensive web based searches that you may produce, what proof do you possess in brief to support your aforementioned claims about Malwarebytes effectiveness.
Thanks...Gregg
